From small islands to big songs

On the 266th edition of RootsWorld Radio, we’ll start with some unusual music rooted in Madagascar, by an ensemble of musicians from many of the islands of the Pacific and Indian Oceans, from a collection called "Small Island Big Song" with the Ankivio Village Band, Airileke, andro and many others. We’ll also hear a quartet of musicians from Iran and North America called opium Moon ; the Haitian band RAM, Italian accordionist Riccardo Tesi and Banditaliana, the Danish duo Vingefang, the German Pulsar Trio, and the Lebanese/Palistinian duo of Philippe El Hage and Youssef Hbeisch.
