From Scandinavian Gambia to East-African Brooklyn.
RootsWorld Radio #215 begins with Dawda Jobarteh, a Gambian artist living in Copenhagen. We’ll continue with some vocal ballads from the Faroe Islands and Australia, some self-described ’East-African Retro-Pop’ from Brooklyn, and a Chinese improvisation on the sheng & Jew’s harp. We’ll continue on with music from Chicago, France, Ivory Coast, Madagascar and Colombia and wrap things up with some music from a collective of musicians from Maryland, New Zealand and Ethiopia. Artists on the show include Dawda Jobarteh, Kata, Tao Ravao & Thomas Laurent, Zanzibar, Nilamayé, Erik Aliana & Picket, and Damakase.
